Jaw reduction narrows a wide or square lower face either by shrinking the masseter muscles with botulinum toxin injections or by surgically reshaping the mandibular angle. Surgical reduction is performed through an intra-oral incision and shaves or splits the angle of the jaw bone to produce a softer, more oval contour, with no visible external scar. The non-surgical route provides a temporary trial lasting 4–6 months and is often used before committing to surgery.
