    Birthmark Removal

Birthmark treatment addresses vascular marks (port-wine stains, haemangiomas), pigmented marks (congenital naevi, café-au-lait marks) and mixed lesions using the most appropriate technique for each lesion. Options include pulsed-dye laser for vascular lesions, Q-switched or picosecond lasers for pigmented lesions, surgical excision for raised or large marks, and tissue expansion for very large areas. Treatment is often started in childhood for vascular birthmarks to take advantage of better response in younger skin.
