Hand Surgery

    Tendon Repair

Tendon repair reconnects lacerated or ruptured tendons in the hand, forearm, foot or elsewhere using specialised suture techniques designed to tolerate early protected movement. Primary repair within days to weeks of injury gives the best result, while delayed or chronic injuries may require a tendon graft or transfer. Early, supervised hand therapy is essential to prevent stiff adhesions without risking re-rupture of the repair.
